West Central Ohio GTG
« on: April 17, 2013, 08:23:53 am »
I am hosting a GTG in West central OH on June 8th. It's 20 miles West of Lima OH, roughly half way between Toledo and Dayton. I am new here, I posted this GTG on another forum and a member here suggested I also post it on this site since a lot of the Ohio crowd hangs out here. This will just be a casual GTG to run saws and sling the BS. I would love to have lots of McCullochs and other vintage saws but of course all are welcome. If anyone wants to follow the thread on AS I have the same user name there.

Hey WELCOME to the site.

Quite a few of us Ohio guys hang out here.  Thanks for posting GTG.

Al Smith might be 20 mins or closer to  this GTG already.

I have it marked and it is a possibility for me.  ;)

Here's the bigger log I have for the GTG. Its an 18 foot trunk of a cottonwood. I hope the pic posts, I haven't done pictures on this forum before.

Well, that worked so here is the other logs I have right now. They're all ash that stood dead for a couple years. A bit dry and hard, I guess it will be a good test of your chains edge holding ability;) I plan to get more logs next week.

Well that EAB ash will eliminate any race chains .That stuff is rather hard .

I've cut a bunch of it and I'm not done yet .On that stuff you file every tank full if it can go that long in between .

The nearest town is Venedocia OH. PM me for exact address. On Saturday I'll have roast pork loin, hamburgers and hot dogs, probably some other stuff. If anyone wants to bring their own specialty or a dessert that would be fine.  You can pitch a tent and BS around the campfire if you want. Alcohol is OK but absolutely no running saws after even 1 beer. I figure thats common sense, but just wanted to put it out there to be sure. The nearest convenience store is a 20 mile round trip so keep that in mind.
