120i and oil types
« on: April 02, 2018, 10:08:45 am »
Hello,
I just bought a Husqvarna 120i battery powered chainsaw, it's small but I'm only cutting small trees and and areas of thick-stemmed thorny bushes.   The manual says to only use mineral chain oil but I'm wondering if I could use branded (Bosch) biodegradable chainsaw oil instead because the area is pristine, lots of frogs, some lizards, bees, pheasants, etc.   I've got time enough to clean the chain bar after every use if the only problem with the biodegradable oil is getting gummy when left too long.
Thanks for any advice,
Gerard

IMO  yes. Also some folks use vegetable oil for bar oil. Just clean after use as it gets gummy too.
