Kobalt Cordless pole saw
« on: May 20, 2017, 04:37:33 pm »
Good Day  ... The other day I purchased my first power pole saw. I chose this Kobalt model mainly because of the freedom of no cords. The battery charges pretty fast and so far will work for several hours at a time. I like the feel of it and its pretty well balanced. The blade could be a little longer (its 8" and 10 or 12 would have been nice). But the only actual functional issue i have is the over all length.

The saw has 3 parts. the battery/controls, an extension pole and the business end. all together you get its full reach. And in there is my problem. Its too damn short. What i need is a second extension pole to give me a couple more feet and that would solve 90% of my cutting needs short of just getting a bigger ladder to drag around.

So, my questions is .. does any one know if there s a way to buy this as a spare piece, cause I don't see that Lows sells it separate.

Or .. If any of you guys can recommend a different brand and model that will get me to 12' to 15' out of the box I would appreciate it.

Thanks  .. Dhraphael

This the one you got?  https://www.lowes.com/pd/Kobalt-40-Volt-Lithium-Ion-Li-ion-8-in-Cordless-Electric-Pole-Saw/1000180467

Maximum Pole Extension (Feet)    8

Pretty much how long the non extendable ones are.   Dont see any extensions for it either.

Looking at battery only 10.25' on this one. http://chainsawrepair.createaforum.com/cordless-battery-ope-corded-electric/oregon-40v-pole-saw/

Gas go look at the echo ppt 266 280 etc. Like 13' 1".  I had the 260 and loved it.  Plus you can buy  4' extension.   http://www.echo-usa.com/Products/Power-Pruners/PPT-280
