Chainsaw Repair

I went to the Dolmar dealer and this saw was setting there as a trade in. There were not any 6400's around at that time. I couldn't get over the size of the teeth on the dog (Single Dog) It sat there another year before I bought it. I already had a 7900 by then. It was such a sweetheart to use. I ordered what was supposed to be a outer dog for it but when it came, it was another inner dog. I got to looking at the dog and comparing it with the inner. Finally I took a ball peen and knocked the rivnuts off the new dog and it bolted onto the cover perfectly. I had ordered bolts when I ordered the spike. 

And wouldn't you just know it, I haven't cut a single three with it that had thick bark. Nor with my pair of 7900's either.

The previous owner worked for the Norfolk-Western Railroad and had been cutting up creosote crossties with it. It had the original 20" bar and several well used Stihl RS chains. The chains were black as smut from the creosote. I figure used crossties have considerable grit in them?

Anyway, the saw is pleasant to use. Here is Nick from Cincinnati making a cut with it at a GTG a few years ago.
