+1 on the glue, Loc-Tite 601/603. Just did a 7900 bottom end, gluing the bearings in is no big deal but you had better be quick! The heated case makes 603 cure really fast. Have a 5100S here with a spun clutch side bearing, I was praying it did not ruin the case but I am afraid it did, just too much play!

get me a list of what you need and i will get prices. muffler parts are all in stock. i keep plenty of the non cat mufflers here for just that purpose. doesn't hurt that they are half price of the cat.  you would have never heard the end of it if you passed on that saw for $15

With the 421 and 6100 both available now we sell many fewer 5105s than when we had just the 5100s/early 5105 and the 421 and 6100 both didn't exist.  Funny how it works, I think the latest gen of 5105 is the best yet.  With more choices the customer gets a more appropriate saw for their needs.

Our top sellers are definitely the 6400 and 421.

sell about the same number of 6400 as 7910. loggers and tree service guys around here are used to running an 066/394 with 20" bar with skip chain so you have to convince them that a 7910 is big enough to do the job and no way are they only going to run a 6400

Interesting combo (big, old, 95cc saws with 20" bars).   What part of the country are you in?

Here in Northern New England, and SE Canada we've always logged primarily with saws on the smaller side. 60-70cc.

Tree crews run maybe one big saw for large residential take downs.  Dolmar PS421 and 5105, Stihl MS261, or Husqvarna 346xp on the ground and for brush.  Stihl MS200t up in the tree.

southeast ohio. loggers have 394/395 husq and tree crews run 066 or maybe a 046 all with 20" bar. 200T for bucket work. step dad logged for the last 15yrs and only saws he had was 066 with 20" and a 24" behind the seat for big trees. The one tree service ran my 7900 with a 32" to cut a tree and they just about gave it back to me because that bar was to much of a pain to use. On that particular tree the 32 wouldn't even come close to reaching all the way through.  I think they are nuts running an 066 to limb with. the one guy even takes the 66 up in the bucket if he needs something bigger than 200T with a 14"

I'm the only one in this country with any Dolmar saws 421, 5100, 7900, 6400BBK, Solo 665/681.  It's either Stihl or Husky.  MS440/441 or MS460, Husky 385 biggest I've seen mostly 20" bars.  Bucketsaws 200T or Echo 330.
