With the 6100, the strato is both piston ported and reed valved? I assume this was an effort to make it different from that used on a Husky?
We should share what we know... someone may learn...

probably to stop any reversion. some really good strato saws have some reversion regardless of port timing. just their way of stopping that. ;)

Could be there both to prevent reversion, and also to be demonstrably different for patent infringement suit prevention....

For older saws:
Tune the H side so that it 4-strokes (burbles) at WOT unloaded and just cleans up when under load.
When you lift cutting load, the saw should immediately revert to 4-stroking.  Fine tune the transition point for the wood you're cutting.

looks like they copied husky in more ways than one. Never the less think its a good saw for 575.00.  I will probably get one off the next order.

Kevin, warranty wants it back.  Nate and I would both rather keep it but still want to work with them. We were going to order a base gasket and vac test but o well

Yes that is a set of reeds. Not totally sure why they want it back. They had us tear it down to check it out and was going to send us a new base gasket but then they decided they wanted it back to do there own inspection.
