What did you end up using for topend? OEM
Have you got to test run it yet?

OEM top end. Yes i cut with it. I think it needs the carb cleaned. It bogs between idle and WOT. The amish guy gave me a doner saw to get break parts off of. Its got a coil and carb i might take off of it to.

My experience, you have to strap the saw down and use both hands on the spring.
You have to use a tool that sticks up inside the coils about and inch so the spring doesn't bend yet doesn't hinder you getting the edge of the coil in the trough.

Glad it's you and not me learning that.
I have froze my fingers off 3 times working on that stihl trimmer today.

I figured out the carb issue. The impulse line was too long and was kinked. I snipped 1\2 inch off and it runs good.

That was one of the first swaps guys were doing when 7900's came out. Walbro off the 372's.
Check some of those hotter woods ports running around and the carbs on them.
