Popped muffler off. I just smiled   ;D.  Cylinder looks like new. Not hurt.  All that is on piston is detonation erosion on front lip part of top of piston. Not even all the way around.

What causes detonation erosion anyway? Thanks for getting it.

IMO running old mix.

Also got curious and pulled recoil cover, top cover, plug etc.   Tested after regapping coil as I wanted to knw as 1 side looked tight. Reads low and then high some times.  Mostly low.

top left recoil bolt not tight but there. So put plasic gage to make hold tight for you for now.

wrong plug in it but checked psi. I was huffed at 140psi and stopped pulling. cylinder again looked great through plug hole.

Looking in tank the end of fuel line deteriorated some and missing fuel filter.

somebody in past had been running 3/8 8T

air filter I thought looked like new.

Have pics but my dsl as been crap today.

only pics I could get resized on bf cr group.

I seem to recall one of my stock stihl 084 had that same type of front top erosion on the piston. I ran it as it was no problems.
@adam32 was  that the one you traded for and I had got from Adam?

Being 52mm bore I was wondering about the piston specs.  Meteor piston 44     12 X 33 X 8    Will try and find my 52mm piston thread to compare.

bar studs modified to accept a stihl mount bar or what? looks like flats have been cut into them and pretty sure they are supposed to be round.

I put a d009 on it fit perfect but didnt look close. Will take a closer look now though. To see if there was space at bottom.   Have a stihl mount here too to check.

Going by this new stud pic sure appears someone had flat filed the ones on it though.

So mount was the 9000 9010 suppose to be?  Big stihl 14mm or stihl 12mm or what?  That one link shows d009 but they have been wrong before.
