7 sleeper .You said  you have a dolmar 5000.
How do you tune it : with a tach or in the wood-4 stroking and 2 troke in the cut?
What is the setting at the H jet(how maniy turns out?)
Thanks!
I tune it with a tach. Start way rich. Never checked how many turns out. Sorry.

If I didn't have a tach I would go to a dealer. Around here it costs beer money.

Tuned by me with a tach 12500 rpm holds in wood 8500-9000 rpm.The H jet is 3 turns out.
I use sthil hp ultra 40:1.
Is too rich?
Tuned by the dealer without a tach H jet 1 1/2 turns out and is hitting the rev limiter.
I think is too lean?
Thanks!

I'd go along with those thoughts.

Keep in mind that outside air temperature plays a big part in the apparent mixture setting. Colder - they go leaner
Warmer - they go richer

As far as I recall the max. rpm is 13500. So I would orientate my saw more in that direction.

660 magnum. With the dealer settings is hitting the rev limiter in the summer in the winter  lean!
7 sleeper At 13500 rpm is hitting the rev limiter .No 4 stoking or I can hear it.
At 12500 rpm for 6 months now I see no carbon build up on the exhaust side.
Could apear other problems with my setting?

I have some Dolmars set at 12500 and have not had any problem with carbon. They are rather fat on mixture when you start out but as the cylinder gets hot, they are fine in the cut.

You can not set a 13500 saw at 13500 as it will hit the limiter. 13000 is about as high as you can go with one.

This is how my dolmar act : fat at start but when its got hot fine in the cut!I will leave it with my setting.
Thanks again and sorry for the off topic!

Setting saws after specific RPM is not a way that works very well if you are out to get most out of your saw and have it many hrs.

I found a comparison that might actually work.
You don't choose amount of exercise by the pulse, you do it by performance.
You don't choose tires based on what speed limit you have, you get tires that work with what speed you wish to go.
You give it what it needs to perform its best in wood! Not the highest scream, fastest stop or biggest bang.
Chainsaw nut!

Just to clarify max rpm is 13500 it is not what I recommend. I have mine set at ~13200.
