I haven't made the purchase yet because stihl is looking at my MS 250 I am not holding out much hope but I will try, if they come back with nothing then I am going to buy the DOLMAR I am thinking of going with the one size bigger for 389 and it comes with a 18" bar I believe it is a 521??? not sure.
Not quite sure what you are talking about. The next size up is the 510 and 5105.

The 510 models(Farmer/SemiPro) are a little older design with a aluminium crank case. Very good quality, good power but heavier. I expect them to disappear from the line up quite soon. Power wise similar to a Stihl 270/271 or Husqvarna 450 but as mentioned above split metal crank case which many consider a definate plus.

The 5105 models(Pro) are the top of the line of the 50cc from Dolmar. A real strong bastard that will let you forget a lot of other in its class. Classic two stroke and has a easy start mechanism. Power wise very similar to the Stihl 261 or Husqvarna 346xp/550.

About the 420/421(updated version with 3hp compared to the 420 with only 2.7hp) it is one of the great saws on the market in my eyes! It only has 42cc but this little fellow always wants to play with the bigger boys! And it sure cut's that way! I put it in the same category as the pro line form Stihl 241 and Husqvarna 543 at 1/3 to 1/2 of the money! I run mine(420) in 325/1.3mm 14inch bar set up with a full chisel Stihl chain and it just rips! Noodling? It loves noodling! I also have a 5000 (predecessor to the 5105) and it is staying more and more at home.

I see the best setup for a homeowner/small grade farmer in a 40&60cc combo. And on that list would definately be the 421 and the new Dolmar 6100!
