Looking at the IPL, both bearings are 6202's. The PTO side has the seal in the bearing. I would think it would need to be one of those with the double lips on the seal (DU suffix)? They say to seat it in the case with Loctite 601.

The flywheel side has a separate seal. Your supposed to pack some grease on the back side of the seal

Actually I was suspecting a crank seal before I started working on it and had already bought the bearings and seals. With the clutch off looking right at the bearing you can see the outer race spinning in the case when you rotate the crank. I'm told the probability of a fix is nill but we will give it a try. Earl is a good machinsit so we are going to try and make a bushing.

I would be tempted to try Loctite 609 retaining compound before I tried to machine a bushing.
The stuff is great ;)

I would try peening the bearing housing and use loctite (660? or 609)on the new bearing.

Wkpoor check with Andyshine I think he bought a used 5100 once that the crank bearing had been loctite in.

No not me, my 5100 had some carb issues but it held vacuum. I do know of a few 5100's that had spun pto side bearings. The only real way to fix them is with a sleeve like Bill mentioned, but I don't know if there's enough metal and the fit would have to be interference. I'm afraid to say it may be time for a new saw.

WKPOOR let me know if that bearing on the clutch side is bigger that the left side. Mine on the clutch side, the inter race is .057 wider that the rest of the bearing I supose to hold the seal.
