in the video with the Makita, I heard that crackly pop sound when he revved it up to start the cut. is that " 4 stroken" due to a rich condition? it smoothed out in the cut so I figure that was it.

It's wildly ported and it likes its fuel.  They also have a rev limited coil at 13-13.5k.  So out of the cut they sound like a Tasmanian devil trying to get out of them.

Still, it takes a lot of load to get it to fully clean up, you'll still hear a pop or two in the cut.  Makes you defecate yourself when you first hear it but that is tuned to where it's making happy power.  Nathan is pretty happy with it, I'm porting a second one for him.
