Need help looking at a PS-32
« on: May 21, 2014, 06:04:39 pm »
There is a shop selling out. He has a new ps-32 in box. Before I buy. Are they worth a darn, adjustable carb and are they any better then a MS170 Stihl. I do know most of you have better ones then this one but I do not want  invest alot on a saw I never had or hardly heard of.I just want to try one out if I don't like it trade in on Stihl. I'm a huge Stihl fan and Jonsered. But now snice jonsered is be sold by some else.I am now thinking of selling most of my jons keeping my CS2152 and my 2045 I rebuilt from ground up last fall.So what I am asking is that little saw better then a MS170 or is a joke for a saw(PS-32).

Thank you
Jason

the ps-32 is so far and above a better saw than the ms170, it isn't funny. much better antivibe, more power, better built (although just as much of a pain in the ass to work on as the 170) and has an adjustable carb. no oiler issues either. new, they're about $240-ish up here. get about half that for a couple year old one used.
when I grow up, i wanna be an adult.

Way better than a 170. Adjustable oiler that on high setting  will flood the clutch if your only running the 14" bar.  Easy starting. I gave one a torture test for a year and only thing that needed done was replace the air filter a couple times and a primer bulb.  Air filter is the low point for them.  Felt like material that is impossible to clean but new filters are cheap. There are more powerful saws out there for That $180-200 price but you won't be disappointed with one of these.

If you want to see one of the best threads about what the little ps 32 is capable you need to look at this thread from the best german modder I know! And the vids he made from unmodded over muf mod to full blown mod, will make you buy a 32 in a second!

Here are the vids.

Can't go wrong for $150

The PS-32 and 35 are about the nicest, super-mini, plastic, entry level saws I have ever seen.

The German built PS-35 is worth the extra $50, more power, better carb, and more consistent construction. (written for anybody else reading this and considering a light weight little saw).

The PS-32 runs $195 here and the PS-35 $249.
