Found a video of my sachs dolmar 166 making 3 cuts at a gtg on muffler. Not very fast on muffler but had to try it.

I am pretty frustrated with my 166 right now. So frustrated to the point that I have it hidden in my shop so I don't even have to look at it. I think I would love it if I could get it to run right, but I have done all I know to do to try to fix it besides buy a new carburetor and nothing has worked.

cowroy, JMO 166's are for selling or as collectors IMO.   Not for working, running cutting with.

I totally agree man! I am on the verge of this one going away and since I am here where there is a little less traffic and more practicality, I don't mind saying that. i just haven't made up my mind yet. I would just like for it to run where I could make a good judgement  ::)

Like I said before I ran Kevins souped 166 at Chardon  and had the stocker for a week or so to practice  with .It was one powerfull machine but it wasn't as good as an 084 as far as user friendly .

I kind of put them in the same class as my 125 McCullochs ,Damned fine old saws but getting to the point it's nearly impossible to find repair parts for them .Those things were made to run giant long bars in old growth PNW stuiff which they can still do .Just how many 6-8-10  foot diameter trees does the average guy run into ?
