Some ideas.

 I wouldn't reccomend helicoil for anything unless material is lacking. Stihl studs can sometimes be screwed in. For thread repair I'd use these.  https://www.mcmaster.com/#90699A315

Stainless threaded insert works great on any say. Drill and tap for tge insert and JB Weld the threads before screwing it in. Better then factory

Stihl stud repair I know of. But these I didnt know if they had a bigger repair stud or not. Seen folks drill out case and tap for a redneck bar stud deal. Cant remember it all.

I wonder if the stihl ones I have saved in thread would work for him. Turn or grind shoulders down.
