The new Dolmar 7910 USA Strato Chainsaw

They have a new name for their new emissions compliant system. They call it "SLR" or Scavenge Loss Rejection

The muffler is different and has a brace like the cat muffler on the 6400C did. The new muffler has a chamber that first collects the exhaust gases which are held in this camber until close to the point where the piston closes the exhaust port before the exhaust gases go into the other part of the muffler. I understand that it is not a cat muffler per se. Here is their explanation of how the muffler works . . .

Notice the compression release on the right side instead of the left side.

Interesting. Wonder if the 6400 7300 7900 muffler will be a bolt on replacement like the 5100 on the 5105.

Wonder what they did to the cylinder and stock port timing.

The new 6400 and 7310 both have the compression release on the right side.

We are going to have to wait a few weeks for the details to come to light. On the 6400 - though it shows the same picture as the 7310 and 7910, makes no mention of the SLR emissions technology in the literature.  As noted above they have a statement that they have changed all three cylinders to have the compression release on the Rt Hand side with a new hood.

According to specs, the 7910 and 7310 is quite a bit up in weight, and down in power vs. the 7900 and 7300.....

Specs, yes, but we saw one of each weighed on the same scale by a dealer and they were identical.

proof they weigh the same 7900 7910 and that looked to have clutch covers on. Factory weighs without bar cover for dolmar.

We've had 7910s now for a few weeks and can confirm the weight is exactly the same on our scale too.  Power seems identical as well.  The 7910 also seems to hang and handle better than the older 7900, and 6400C.
