This saw is an obvious Shindaiwa design all the way down to the trans caps.  Four rubber body mounts, one nylon wrapped rubber handle av and rubber nipple limiters at the rear bottom.

Nice flock air filter that splits for cleaning.  Also needs to be mentioned, the seems needs grease, other wise it leaks fines.

Build quality is top notch although the oil pump drive assembly is trashed.  Looks more like a defective part than wear though.

The saw is slower than the top two's pro 50's but I expected that.  The handles are very comfortable and the vibes are tolerable.  This this is VERY stuffed up though.

Muffle is completely hollow.  No cat and just one very short tube with tine outlets.

Although it has been oiling fine, I found the the drive worm assembly is trashed...

Editing all the vids together.

Under the stock deflector is a tube that pulls out with out cutting.  Remove the tube and open up the face of the deflector.

I like the sound of a dual port so I added one.

Also the gasket does not match the exhaust port, it will need to be trimmed.

Looks like a decent gain in cut times but the big difference is in throttle response.  The saw revs much sharper.

I like the chain tension set up.  Easy to get to and not built into the clutch cover.

Trans cap work.  Most of the grinding involves a smooth cap to cylinder wall transition.  Believe me, you will understand when you see it.

Ounce again, the port size is ok but the transition isn't the best.

Mitch is that left side deflector exhaust  going to hit your hand if saw was flush cutting for some reason?

 Had a guy send me a muffler cover on a 084 and burned the heck out my hand with glove on, on a flush cut once.  Only took a little while to figure out he aimed exhaust wrong way.  >:(   :D

Also whats the piston look like?

This little 50 doesn't flow air like the big guys so no heat here.  I will not put a deflector on the left of a 70cc plus saw.

Dang, hope I took a pic of the piston.....  looks like an old homlite piston.

I see the retail cost here, so what is real world cost if you know?   http://www.echo-usa.com/Products/Chain-Saws/CS-500P

It says PHO weight 10.6lbs.  Have you weighed it by any chance?
