the 550 is too close to the weight of the 600 to be worth while. it's a very good saw, but the cs500 with a muffler mod will outcut it quite easily.
the cs500 is actualy a very good 50cc saw with little exposure. out of the box tuned properly, my buddy als' 500 was hanging with my mm5105.
not trying to take anything away from the 550, it's just too heavy for the power compared to the 500 :)

Echo states 10.6 lbs on the 500 and after running it, I wouldn't argue with them.  The 550 states 13.3 in comparison to 13 for the 600 so something is off on the site.  The 600 weights what you would expect a 60cc saw to but if the 550 is near the same, it is outclassed.

I agree as well, the 500 is a great saw with amazing filtration.
