the 550 is too close to the weight of the 600 to be worth while. it's a very good saw, but the cs500 with a muffler mod will outcut it quite easily.
the cs500 is actualy a very good 50cc saw with little exposure. out of the box tuned properly, my buddy als' 500 was hanging with my mm5105.
not trying to take anything away from the 550, it's just too heavy for the power compared to the 500 :)

I have a CS-520 exhomedepot rental saw that I really like.  I know the guys that look after their rentals so I'm OK with the ex rental thing.  Runs and oils great I've yet to do a Muff mod on it but plan to in the future. I also got 6 good chains with it as the replacement unit was a different bar length. Every time a saw is returned it gets a new chain regardless of wear.  Employees can have them for the asking! SHHHH!!
