CS-8000 white or orange?
« on: October 17, 2013, 07:45:34 pm »
What is the difference between the "white" and the "orange" CS-8000?

I presume that the white is the older of the two.
Are there any substantial differences other than EPA type stuff?

I have seen a couple cs-8000 on CL
Doing some research.
White or grey depends on quality of photo I guess.

the older version (whitish grey), slightly lower power from lower comp and slightly loose port timing.
the newer versions, with plastic clutch cover and pullstart (orange), new timing numbers, better compression and domed piston.
here's a good thread:

If you want to test run one I have one here. It is a very stout runner with tightened squish, muffler mod, etc.

I have a older JD yellow.  I would put it against any 80cc.

It has out cut some larger saws already at gtg with 24" buried.   Thats the longest bar I have now, sure the longer bars and bigger cc's would shine in bigger wood.
