has anyone had trouble with the tank vent on a cs 8000 ? I have one that has a white plastic vent inside the air filter by the carb .

Never did have trouble with mine older 800V in JD colors.  Never noticed the deal your talking about. I will see if I see anything in a IPL.

Part 31 vent cover and 32 the white vent?  A356000031 = vent.

On some of the older tanks they have a vent on the right side under the handle bar support and a second vent up on top of the tank with a hose and white plastic looking jelly bean kind of thing.  I usually take the guts out of the jelly bean and put the cap back on.  This will increase the number of pulls to start to about 5 because the tank wont build pressure.  You wont starve for fuel though.
