Does your new 340 use the small reed valve engine like the 341?  The reed engines dont rev as high as the piston ported design but they have a nice smooth even power band and run forever.

(power boost)

Yep it has a reed. Shhhh dont tell any of these guys, they know I dont by reed saws.     

Yep lower rpm wot set at 11K but feels like it holds most of it in the cut even for such a small cc saw.
