Still digging.  http://echo-usa.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/563

Couldnt pass it up.   Just hoping it balances with 12" for (1 HANDING). Thats the reason I passed on the dolmar 3410 earlier  with new b+c.

That's how injuries happen.

Does your new 340 use the small reed valve engine like the 341?  The reed engines dont rev as high as the piston ported design but they have a nice smooth even power band and run forever.

If your interested in an Owners Manual or IPL (parts diagram) use this link: http://www.echo-usa.com/Support-Help/FAQs.  If you search out the specs, sometimes they will offer additional info like whether that model has the slope advance ignition system and/or which engine series it is of. (power boost)

Looks like it is in nice shape.

Yep it has a reed. Shhhh dont tell any of these guys, they know I dont by reed saws.   ;) :P

Yep lower rpm wot set at 11K but feels like it holds most of it in the cut even for such a small cc saw.

Busted!  I knew you were a closet reed valve guy Kevin.8)

I like Echo saws.  You did very well getting that little bugger.  I have a buddy who climbs with an orange 340T.  Seems to like it.

For older saws:
Tune the H side so that it 4-strokes (burbles) at WOT unloaded and just cleans up when under load.
When you lift cutting load, the saw should immediately revert to 4-stroking.  Fine tune the transition point for the wood you're cutting.

Shhhhhh Aaron only the small saws are getting away with it.   ;D

I did find a clutch cover with hand guard and brake out your way. Just thought I may want it when 1 handing starts this spring.

Be aware the recoil starter on them isn't the sturdiest.  They don't take to long arming and cold weather makes the plastic brittle.

I've been selling those types on C'list for 150 a copy.
