Not having troubles with the saw, just the coils.  :D :D

Echo only cover coils for 10 years after the model was last made. I checked with echo directly.

ECHO products feature a lifetime warranty on the ignition module. ECHO's liability under the "Lifetime" coverage is limited to furnishing parts for "Life" free of charge for a period of ten (10) years after the date of the complete unit's final production. The lifetime warranty is extended to the first original retail purchaser and is not transferable to subsequent owners. The ignition module must be tested and replaced by an authorized servicing ECHO dealer. *Rental units do not quality for lifetime warranty

So which one of you 3900 owners was bidding me up.   ;)   Man what a money pit this 3900 has become.

Figured it was cheaper to buy a running 3900 and have a bunch of extra parts too since these were only made 3 years and seem in short supply.

All I need now is this coil in the runner to go bad and I will  have a echo clay shoot.  ;D  :D ;D

Hopefully it arrives in one piece.

Well #2 came in today and has a good coil and runs sweet. 16" too.
Figured out why the muffler was burning the chain brake too.  Spring that hold handle back was bent out of shape and missing metal stop.

You won that one?  I took the first bid right away and was gonna bid again, but just couldn't bring myself to do it.

Yes. Figured it was cheaper then getting a new coil and now I have a whole parts saw minus a coil.

Tried a redneck fix yesterday and tried it out this evening. So far it's good. Be interesting to see how long it last, because this recoil guide seem to be a weak area on these IMO

When I bought this 2nd 3900 it had a issue with the recoil guide being broken and the rope would hang up in mid pull. I took some quiksteel and molded my own half of guide onto the broken area.  :P

BEFORE.

AFTER redneck fix.

Compared to the original on other 3900 recoil.

I put a new loop of oregon 33 325 on the 16" bar and buried  it in the maple today. I have it set rich at 12.5k ish and max is 13.5k-14k.  I think these are keepers with their light weight PHO too.    ;D

660mag I would like to compare it to the bigger cc 025 sometime.  8)

My CS400 was cutting quite a bit faster than my CS4400 with a .325 setup. I switched over a CS4400 (43cc) from .325 7 tooth to 3/8 lo pro 6 tooth, gained a lot of cutting speed.   Same chain as the CS400 comes with, the spocket from the CS400 fit but was a bit too wide and had to be milled a little.  Now the CS4400 cuts a little faster than my CS400.   Steve

I'd like to find a 3/8LP 6T for this saw. I think the stihl PS chisel chain would be the cats  ;).   They make a rim in 6 3/8lp, never even though about that before.

I know when I used PS chisel 3/8LP picco on my little poulan 260 42cc I could out cut the 025 with 324 rsc in timed cuts.
