Are you asking if they make a 6 tooth rim or saying they do, I ended up with a 6 tooth spur same as on a CS400. One other thing when i switched my CS4400 over I first tried a 7 tooth 3/8 rim with the lopro but that didn't cut any faster than the .325 setup, maybe worse.  Really came alive with the 6 tooth.    Steve

Wow I didnt even know what I said there till about the 3rd time. Must have been out of it.  :-[  I was asking do they make a 6T rim for 3/8 LP?  I can only find spur drums so far.

Also I think the 3900 might be closer to the 023 in the wood then a good running 025.  :o  Big torque difference in the cut with 16" almost buried.

021    2.14    35.2        2.0 bph
023    2.44    40.2        2.6    "
025    2.76    45.4        3.0    "

The only way to find out is running them side by side, once the muffs are unclogged most Echo saws pull good per cc.   Steve

I did run them side by side back to back.  ;)  Against a 025. No comparison torque wise with the 3900 having stock unmodded muffler still.  Thats why I said maybe they are closer to the 023.    I do like the feel and build of the 3900 better.

I didn't change anything on the 025 but I was looking at the muffler yesterday and there is a big square hole under the cover that holds the screen.

The saw is rather loud and seems to have plenty of power.

Some of those 025 mufflers have a single round hole there and some have 3 or 4 small holes.

Then there is the wrap around baffle at the muffler inlet? I didn't removed the muffler to evaluate it.

I had the muffler off last year and it does have the four port engine like the 250 does.

Once the muffs are unclogged, most new Echo saws gain a lot doing that but have noexperiance with a 3900.  Steve

Fellow gave me this and I wonder if it is worth the trouble to fix.  Looks like lots of 'stuff' is broke.

I know what the echo is 3900.  Have had 2 of them and 1 with dead coil right now.

Many THANKS to you for the parts saw. The dirty looking 3900 is back up and running with the coil transplant.

Parts saw arrived with good coil and  motor.  8)

Didnt realize there was a smaller trim saw in this family till someone ask about a echo 3600 36cc and I came across a echo cs-3600 IPL showing the 3900 too.  http://www.barrettsmallengine.com/partslist/echocs3600cs3900.pdf

Muffler modded the older looking echo 3900 today.  Better but still not a 025 or 250 in the cut (  stihl is 45cc compared to echo 39cc). Still like the light weight for a trim saw though.

The 025 has to be Stihl's best cutting lower grade saw, real close to  their 029 - 290.  A pain to work on though.   Steve
