Hey,

Funny you linked that video.  I bought that exact saw off ebay earlier this year.  I really like the 3900 with 16 inch bar.  It is a good, light limb saw.  Anything over 10 inches in hardwood and it gets a little slow, but that's why I have a 6700 with 24 inch bar.

Cant find to much info on them.  What you see it what  all I dug up.

I found out this 3900 is going to need a on/off switch, it was removed by prior owner I guess.  Still in the mail somewhere.

3900 arrived.

Having a issue and I think I am thinking right on this. No spark at all. The on/off switch is missing and the 2 wires are not touching, 1 is on the plastic part where switch goes through other is just there not touching nothing.  Should be showing spark when pulling over right?

:o :o If it is the coil I guess she wont be getting a new one   Echo 15660137330 COIL IGNITION    $88.80    :o :o

Correct. The switch wires when connected short out the ignition so it doesn't fire.

If the wires are not connected to anything, then the ignition should fire

Be sure and check if the plug wire and the spark plug are OK?

If you don't end up fixing it, I'd be interested in buying it from you.  I was gonna bid on the dirtiest 3900 I've ever seen on ebay last week but didn't get around to it.  It sold for $30.  He may have gotten a bit more if he'd have put forth ten minutes effort to wash it off...

I got it's twin sister on the bench. Right from the wood pile to a shelf for about 5 years or more. Coil must have went bad sitting.  I'm going to pull everything first to make sure before I make a decision. I had good $ in it taking it on trade on husky parts I sent out for it.

No one was going to steal that chainsaw after it was painted with a silver paint brush?

My dad did a lot of marvelous designs in his time but he painted everything with a silver paint brush.
