I have a Echo 510/520 model airplane engine and it runs right up there with the Dolmar 115 model airplane engine I have.

So what is this echo 500 I think I seen sometime back?  The newest of the bunch?

Specs look heavy for 50cc http://www.wisesales.com/cs500p-16-inch-chainsaw.html   has 59cc up type weight listed.  ??? maybe a mess up.

echo 530 http://www.wisesales.com/echo-ec-cs530-18-chainsaw.html

the cs500 was the replacement for the cs530. which was the replacement for the cs520. the 530 and 500 are
very good little saws. very under rated.

I keep coming up with conflicting specs on the echo cs-550p   .  Some places say 54cc some 50cc, weight goes from 13.3lb to the 10.6lb I just found.

    Engine Displacement: 50.2cc
    Engine Displacement: 3.06 cu in
    Starting System: Spring-assist
    Ignition System: CDI
    Carburetor (w/Purge Pump): Butterfly-Valve Diaphragm
    Oiling System: Automatic/ Adjustable (Clutch-Driven)
    Vibration Reduction System: Standard
    Recommended Bar Lengths: 16" - 20"
    Fuel Capacity: 16.9 fl. oz.
    Oil Capacity: 9.5 fl. oz.
Dry Weight without bar and chain: 10.6 lbs.

Hey CutForFun thanks for getting me back on this site, my computer went down a while back and I forgot about it. My new CS500p just came , first thing I'll do is put it on my good balance scale for the actual dry weight, The muff outlet looks really clogged up, Ill run it stock for a while then muff modd and report the difference in cutting time. It feels light but later the scale will tell.     Steve

that's the thing. the 500 feels way lighter. no idea what the actual weight is, but it 'feels' light and well balanced.
