I think they are the same , I'll check Mon for sure as I have both saws although my 6700 got the 680 P@C and intake on it now.    Steve

Did you get any pics of the 680 P+C compared to the 6700?  Is it like the new 8000 P+C compared to the early 8000 P+C differences?

Steve,
Did your 680 P&C kit come with that odd crossed piston and single ring?

Like the latest 8000 top end the 680 cylinders are coming with the quad port transfers and dome cut squish band/combustion chamber.  It seems they want to sell this top end as a set.  If you order just a piston you get a flat top.  At least that was what was coming earlier this year.  Ill try to get you some pics of the differences.

One of the Echo dealers told me there were 6 different P&C combinations used on the 8000 since 1986.  8000 piston is not crossed like the 680 and continues to use two rings.

I think I got the flat top piston as I ordered the P@C separate, that new one looks good,   Steve

Took echo cs 670 for repair. Guy traded for a stihl 024.  He wanted a lighter saw. Took in with a 18" bar.  Not a good combo for this saw...heats and dulls the chain quickly.  Changed to 24" bar with half skip chain and cuts great. Good power, seems Alittle off balance...like the stihl 361 better, but overall good saw. I will be offering this saw for sale.

:-\ heats and dulls the chain with an 18"? but is fine with a 24"/skip? :-\
something doesn't sound even close to right.
i'd figure that out before trying to sell it.

Was told I have a box delivered today. Should be the 6700 or a 505.  ;D

I'm going to run a 16" on this 6700 to start so I dont get the 18" to 24" deal  ???

I think running a 24" with full skip would be a good idea though on these from my readings though.   I will run a full comp 16" to 20" on mine when all said in done I hope.
