I cant figure Echo out.  The early 6700's came with a Walbro HDA-47 carb, which is identical to the HDA-63 except for the length of the H/L adjustment screws.

Over the last 10 years Echo has gone to smaller carbs on all of their saw engines.  The lone exception has been the cs-620 which went to 15.8 V over the 15.0 V on the 590/600p.

The new 8000 (800p) comes in with a 15.8mm V carb?  HDA-153 is shown for the final version of the 8000 with HDA-324 listed as the new 800p carb.  Both are 15.8 V with the difference being the fast idle is on the choke pull of the newer carb.  Why would Echo spend the time and money engineering a new cylinder and piston (quad port hemi head with the flat top domed piston) to then put a smaller carb on the engine?  Just doesnt make sense...

Echo has even gone as far as to sanitize their IPL;s, removing references to the HDA-45 or HDA-63 carbs as having been used on the 8000.  Take a look at the factory diagrams if you dont believe me.  Its only through Walbro that the references to these larger carbs are available.
