I buy a lot of Echo saws. Most of them are low hours with seized engines.
I have not bought a new saw since 1980 and if I bought a new Echo today, I would muffler mod and remove carb restrictors after I made sure it would run.
For some reason, Echo saws seem to have more problems with seizure then the other quality brands. Might be that there is not enough clearance between piston and cylinder ? ?
I consider Echo to be almost on par to Stihl,  Husqvarns and Dolmar/Makita.
I also realize that warranty would be voided by MM and Carb work, but Echo will void their warranty if you don't and it seizes.
Worked on many Echo saws that warranty was denied and user said they used same gas that was mixed and used in other equipment.

Did they seize again after you repaired them?

It cranks over now. Just won't start.  I've got spark. I've got fuel in the primer bulb. Not sure why it's not starting. Or why the engine wouldn't turn over for a few days.

I'll have to try to start it tonight and check the spark plug.  Seems like it's been dry whenever I've pulled it out.

660magnum---With all chainsaws I rebuild or clean up, I ALWAYS run at least two tanks of fuel through them before selling. I always let the buyer crank and operate saw as much as they like before buying.
All saws are sold without a warranty of any type but I tell buyer to contact me about any problems they might have with a few tanks of use for a week or two.
I have had no complaints.

Most likely Echo doesn't have enough EPA credits  from 4 stroke motors to tune their saws rich enough to run right, tuning them is no problem but a lot never get tuned and burn up.  Steve

Where I am at because of the altitude I do not see a lot of echoes with scored Pistons.

I do not let a chainsaw out the door unless I can hear it 4 stroking.
