Is it practical to change chain pitch?
« on: April 15, 2018, 11:29:47 am »
I have an old Echo CS-302 that runs great.  It has a 1/4" pitch chain which make it very annoying to find a replacement.  Would it work to change the sprocket to one for 3/8" chain pitch, then get a 3/8" chain and bar?  I'd love to have a good selection of chains and guide bars at Home Depot in the future.

1/4" to 3/8LP picco not 3/8 full size.  Change drum spur and or sprocket rim and bar if not a hardnose bar already.

1/4 chain is out there. What are you needing?

Nate sells it in Oregon 25.

Frawley's did have free shipping, I've bought several chains, bar or 2 and a rim sprocket/drum setup from them. Usually takes about 3 days to get here, NW Ga. Seems like good people. I think if it were me though I'd leave it 1/4" but I may be a bubble or 2 off plum
