I have a cs4500 and I have no spark. I am reading a lot about the cdi or coils going out. both those parts are obsolete. any help would be much appreciated.

others may know.  I'm clueless on that stuff using tester for reading.

I had another known good set to swap out to know what was bad.  Betting it is your coil and not the mod.

I bought a cs5000 parts saw a few days back, tried using the one piece ignition from it in my early two piece ignition cs4600, fit right in and the saw runs great, from what i see the one piece is still available, #156626 39732, not cheap though.......... :-\

You saying the one piece set up from 5000 will work in the 4500? Since you said 4600 I am just guessing 4500 too. Watcha think?
