John Deere 55
« on: June 05, 2015, 01:32:32 pm »
Just making a thread while I search for info on a JD 55. My friend from SC is thinking this is what he has been using for years and wants a smaller lighter saw to use now.
So just trying to figure out what echo this was and weight so I know what to look for to help him out.

Maybe a = copy paste =  John Deere 55EV Chainsaw
Used John Deere 55EV Chainsaw in excellent condition, runs great, 55cc , lots of power. This chainsaw was built by Echo, and is the same as the 550 Echo models.

Operating RPM for the 550EVL is 5500-9000 according to service manual.  550VL is the same saw with points ignition.

I can't link, but a service manual (specs) for the series is available at manualslib.com under the Echo 440EVL listing.
