Kind of a cool idea, though not sure if making things more complicated is the way to go with saws. Reliably is the biggest selling point of them. Power seems to be on par with other good 60cc saw from the vids I've seen. Would make a cool project saw for sure!

I wouldn't mind having a really slick one of the JD versions of the 'evil twin' just to bust a buddy's chops! If you run across a really nice one you want to pass on, let me know!

I own a Echo cst610evl , if you check eBay the last ones sold went for $400-$600 , mine runs and looks great, I think it actually looks better than any of the ones I've seen sold on eBay , and I'm sure those Johndeere's are worth even more.

I happen to own a very nice condition echo twin, I only run it a couple times a year just to make sure it keeps running, it's all original and looks nearly new.

I noticed a twin ignition set on ebay yesterday for $150 while looking for something else.  You might want to check there.

The twin ignition module fires both coils at the same time, so it sounds like your module is ok its just a coil that you need.  The early 6700 and 5500 had two piece ignitions, module separate from coil, maybe one of those coils would work?  Echo stopped supporting these engines in their last parts go round so I do not know of anyone who has new sets in stock.
