Hi Jos and cut4fun,
This morning I repaired the 1001VL. If you take away the anti-vibration rubbers the oil- and gas tank can be taken out and the oil lines are accessable.
They had indeed nearly completely vanished. Some chewing gum like substance was left  at some spots. The saw must have been unused for quit some time because the blade is still very good (And original I think). I installed two new lines and now it is giving plenty of oil. The saw has a very nice oil pump that works directly on the crankshaft. Bettter and easier to reach than the systems of Dolmar or husqvarna I think.
It is a very nice saw to work with. Bit heavy but a smoot run and a very stable feeling.
Only problem left is now that I got an electric shock two times. Where the sparkplug  lead goes out of the body the isolation has broken and I think that has to be repaired. Not a big deal.
Until now I was mostly interested in Dolmar saws. I have a 133 and a 120.  And I have a modern Shindaiwa tophandle saw. A very good saw. Easy to start and much power.
Bye,
Jaap
