Tygon fuel line
« on: January 09, 2016, 02:17:13 am »
Im really lost on this different fuel line and was hoping some of you guys would know the difference?  How I got started on this was I needed some of the .080 small line for a Sears weedeater the other day and came across a roll on ebay from China.  Its marked Tygon and a 60ft roll was $5.00 shipped.

Looking through what US Plastics offers there are 16 different kinds of fuel and oil tubing;
 http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/default.aspx?catid=579&parentcatid=856

I picked out a common size - 1/8 x 1/4.
 1/8" ID x 1/4" OD x 1/16" Wall Vinyl Fuel and Oil Tubing is 30 cents a foot
 1/8"ID X 1/4"OD X 1/16" Wall Excelon Fuel and Oil is $16 for 25 ft or 64 cents
 1/8" ID x 1/4" OD x 1/16" Wall TygonŽ Fuel and Lubricant Tubing is 79 cents
 1/8" ID x 1/4" OD TygonŽ LP1100 Fuel Tubing is $1.00 a foot.

So, what the heck is the difference?  They are all yellow? Which one are you using and why?

Here is the discussion http://chainsawrepair.createaforum.com/ported-saws/fuel-lines-tygon-etc/ I been testing stens true blue so far I am pleased. Unlike some tygon it will not expand so if it is loose in a fuel tank hole it will not get tighter. I get it off ebay 18 bucks shipped for 25 ft. of 3/16

I work on a lot of cheap weedeaters and find it much better for me to drill the hole in the fuel tank to accept 3/16 line and never use the tiny line.
