Chainsaw Repair

I got a poulan one for 330 380 3750 3450. It works on 1 of the 2 worm gears used on the jonsered 490 590 partner 500 5000 saws. Thinking the coarser one. Not sure.

Great idea!  I was thinking about something similar when I was doing the breakdown.  I went through my large nuts in the barn but found nothing that would do the job.     

I try never to hurry a breakdown.  If I'm stuck, I will put it aside and work on something else until I figure out how to do it.  Reminds me, getting the thick washer off in front of the oiler was tricky.  After a while, I discovered that the washer had treads in the holes (small hole not easily noticeable).   I could find ipls which were helpful but no service manuals.  I've been playing with saw for many years and don't have one Echo service manual.  rick
