Where? Echo Specialty Tools and Service/ workshop manual
« on: October 01, 2014, 05:56:49 pm »
I just broke the case on a Echo CS5000.  The saw was dropped off.  I had sufficient tools to break the case down but time consuming to find the right tool.  Which prompts the question:   Is there an online access to Echo service manuals and specialty tools?   If not online?

Thanks, it looks like I can email an Echo service rep to answer my questions.  I thought if the prices were reasonable I could at least order the worm remover (whatever its called, I'm sure you know what I mean).  rick

I take the metal worms off with a gear puller

Warm it up a little before you start pulling.

I've used a gear puller on them in the past.  But, this worm was in the blind, no access.  What I did was: Use my Husqvarna case separator and pushed the crank out from the pto side.  Not the preferred method and didn't seem to damage the seal.   That's what prompted the post.  I'm a tool nut.  I like to have the right tool if not too pricey.

That tool is a set for all models. Less $ for model specific puller
