Who gots a CS330-T
« on: December 29, 2012, 02:19:25 pm »
I bought one used and I wonder if this piece is the right way. The bottom of the carb has a nozzle but nothing attached and it looks fishy to be pointing back towards the body. The previous owner told me he worked on it and possibly left something out.

There would not be anything fastened to that nozzle as it just goes to the vent side of the metering diaphragm. It is possible that there was a length of tubing on it that went to some neutral pressure place on the chainsaw but it would be left open.

I did look in the manual first and didn't find anything so I thought I'd ask here from someone who actually owned one.  It looks like nothing goes there.

You got me curious. Where is the fuel line and impulse line at on that saw?

Thanks for clearing that up.

First time I had seen something like that, instead of just the small hole in cover.

Thanks..............BB

I add those to the metering valve covers on model airplane engines all the time. I put a piece of Tygon on the fitting and run the tubing back in the fuselage to get to more stable air pressure. Sometimes I just solder a piece of brass tubing in the existing hole to connect the extended vent line to.

With this chainsaw . . . .
The area between the cover and the diaphragm gets stuffed with sawdust eventually. The vent hole just breathes back and forth small amounts. I see the elbow as extending the breathing path to where the sawdust will drop out before it gets to the diaphragm?

i've seen it on a few other brands like this. i think it has something to do with the carb companies giving the saw makers a good deal on a particular model carb they have too many of. :D
