Thanks for the congradulations Kevin.   It does not matter to me who knows that I retired.    I got my truck fixed today and got it back so now I am going take another load of house items to Wyoming.   Then I will start painting my house here where I am now and then get it on the market and sell it.   Then move to Wyoming.   I have alot of things ahead of me to get done.

My older son lived in a couple different parts of Wyoming for a little over 4 years and worked all over the state eventually.

When he first arrived, there were all these stories about only seeing a McDonald's or Burger King every couple weeks and having to make the 300 mi round trip in the truck to the Super Walmart grocery every two weeks which soon changed as he adapted to Wyoming and hated to leave when the time came.

I've been over a lot of the western part of Wyoming with him and as a retired person, I just loved it on first sight.

Enjoy

The entire population for the state of Wyoming is only around half a million people.  The prong antelope is around 700,000.   The elk population is around 125,000.    In other words a lot of open spaces like you said.    I am moving to the eastern part of the state it is where my wife's family lives.     Nothing but grass lands where I will be.    I will have to drive about 50 miles for public land to cut firewood.

Around where he lived early on in Big Piney in the Western part, there were nothing but cottonwoods and little willow like bushes along the streams. But if you went up towards the tree line in the mountains there were pine trees. People seemed to burn the pine? A cottonwood will burn if you can put enough pine around it to keep it hot.

He lived on the East side of Cheyenne the last couple years he was there. No air conditioning. Don't need it with the low humidity and wind.

I saw the speed goats (antelope), nice sized mule deer, and mountain sheep. They all seemed rather healthy and not particularly afraid of a car. Thousands of huge elk below Yellowstone. Don't forget the dumb moose. I liked Jackson Hole but my house and property would be worth 15 times what it is here.

Couldn't get over that horses and cows preferred to be outside in the winter and to eat off the ground.

Big Piney is in the western part of the state and is not as large as New Washington, OH. There's the All American gas station & general store that people call the "Texaco" and the high school. I think the school is a consolidated high school for two counties? There's a bunch of oil drilling activity and associated stuff.

I will be moving also to the east of Cheyenne about 26 miles.    I will be near a town called Carpenter.    I think all it has is a post office, no store no gas station.
