homelite 240 gas leaking
« on: February 03, 2015, 11:58:26 am »
i have a 240 and it is now going thru gas like it is leaking somewhere,i have never been able to use above head because of gas coming out from somewhere, but now iam investigating and going to try and repair fuel line or check for cracks and have taken the pull start cover off and see there is 2 holes into the tank 1 into gas side and 1 into oil side,is there supposed to be some kind of a check valve or how do these work to stop fluids from coming out, also do i need to pull flywheel to get tank out to get to the fuel line side, thanks for any help

The fuel and oil lines are supposed to fit tight through the holes. Maybe it is the wrong size line?

They are duckbill check valve tank vents - they may have different flanges from these?

I have no clue as I have never owned a 240. Maybe someone will chime in here with the knowledge?

Looks built like the other little homies. Remove flywheel and then tanks come out.  That is my WAG
