thanks, thats what i thought, do i need any special tool or just standard pullers,thanks again

I didnt. I just tapped center of crankshaft (not threads) till fly popped off.

I had a 150XL for 20 years but I can not remember now.
We should share what we know... someone may learn...

thanks guys, next time i have a problem with the oil or fuel lines i will have to deal with it,sounds good if it just knocks off,but for now running again and for a 40.00 dollar chainsaw it has really been a great saw, i also have a super-2,runs great, and the old dinasaur a C-72 also runs great and there is nothing it cant cut,thanks again, hope i can help someone out in the future

That is my pic.  Can't remember if the 240 is the same as that little bastard XL (regarding the tanks), as they're somewhat of a funky cousin to the XL, with many minor differences. 

With the XL, we have to slide the engine out to get to the lines.  They 'tether' the tanks to the engine.  The FW doesn't need to be removed to deal with the tanks and lines.  The engine is held in the case by four screws.  Observe how the throttle link attaches to the carb and trigger.  With practice, they aren't hard to reassemble.  I had that damn XL apart about 10-15 times.....

The 240 has a different carb placement.  Oil pump and lines be very different too.  Wouldn't be surprised if the tanks are also very different.  I have a basket case 240 in my shop, but I can't look at it now.  I'm over at my folks place.  Mom passed Saturday afternoon, and I'm keeping an eye on Dad...
