Do you think I can do it??????
« on: May 10, 2012, 12:10:46 pm »
I've repaired belts on snowblowers,  I've torn down and rebuilt rc airplane gas engines with hi and lo throttle settings.  Changed my own oil, and spark plug wires.  So now I have this homelite ut-10045 chainsaw that needs a carb kit installed.  I took out the carb and now before I bust it open, I wanted to ask since I have never done this before, if it will be straight forward as far as removing gaskets pins screws springs and all the small pieces that came with kit and replacing them with the new ones.  Or is there some level of know how and savvy that I should posses before I attempt this.  Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated,  thanks..........

Chainsaw carbs are so easy. Just pay attention to order of removal of diaphragms and gaskets. You get the rebuild kit or just a diaphragm kit?

What is the carb make and numbers letters etc and I will post you a IPL too, to check against.

Go for it. Piece-o-cake.  ;)
Just take your time, take pictures if youre uncomfortable or questioning your re-assembly abilities.

My kit has various springs gaskets, pins, screws and both needle valves, hiGh and low.  So I'm guessing it is a complete rebuild kit.  My only concern is the metering level.  I never heard of that so I am going on Walbro website.  Hopefully they have some info on it.  Thanks for responding to my post, I can't wait to open this carb up, it is like a metal rubiks cube, and there is no visible float.    Fun fun fun......thanks again
