Chainsaw Repair

I took this 1 owner homelite XL in on trade for some parts I put on saw.  I am clueless to homies. Anyone have info on these?

I've got one of those things but an earlier model .It was Homelites answer to a mini Mac I think .Just like mini Mac they were good for maybe a couple of years before they died on the vine .They were such a pain in the buttocks to work on most people just retired them to the shelf and never did anything to them from that time on .Most of them you find still have the original chain on them .

I remember TSC selling the other model I think it was the super Xl or Xl 2  with a 10"-12" bar for $89.95 .For as tiny as they are though if they are running up to par they cut to beat the band .

Yes but they were a short coupled single trigger deal .

The one I have is to the left in this covey of little saws .Next is some model of Poulan and a Mini Mac .It was a freebie too with a bad condenser .I got it running,played with it a little bit and put it back on the shelf .I've got that pair of 200T's and after those most baby saws are just that baby saws .

I think it must depend on when they were made .One is 1.9 cu in .One is 2 cube and I think the itty little single  trigger  89 dollar special I was talking about was only 1.6 cube .Ha my uncle had one he carried around in a 5 gallon bucket with  a quart of oil and a quart of mix gas in another  oil bottle .Cute as a bugs ear .

You have to consider what they are and when they were made .It was the invasion of the micro saws.
Homelite made little saws ,McCulloch had the mini ,Echo had some midget saws .Poulan probabley made the best of the lot though during those early days of teeny saws .

It really was surprising how well they cut too but then again they were all brand new in that time period . What sold them in vast numbers was the fact that anybody could afford the things because chainsaws have never been cheap .These were in retrospect .
