Homelite 10790, tell me about it
« on: March 14, 2014, 01:23:43 pm »
I picked up this little 33cc saw cheap, largely because of the nice blue plastic case it came with. It doesn't have the same look as many of the other Homelite saws so I'm wondering if this was maybe made by someone else and badged by Homelite. It has a 1997 label on it. I can't upload pics. Thank you

Here it is! Found a way to get it to my pc from Craigslist. Looking at your pic, this just looks like an older version of the same saw. Maybe nothing special after all. I bought a Craftsman for $100 about 5 years ago and just recently found out that it is actually a Redmax GZ4000. Mac, Troybilt, and Ryobi also had saws that were the Redmax GZ4000 re-badged with their own names. Just wondered if maybe I'd stumbled across a similar saw again. Oh well.

I had one of these back 15 years ago

And a couple years later I also had one of these

They were made in China and there is nothing in the way of super performance from them. Never had any trouble and they still run just fine in someone else's hands but are just not the chainsaw like a plastic Stihl 025 is but they didn't cost that much either. I paid $100 each for mine at pawn shops when almost new and they looked like they had only made a cut or two.
