Could not have said it better myself Unckie Al! :D

Add Allis Chalmers, Minneapolis Moline, Oliver, and even with some disagreements, International Harvester, as well as AMC to your list.

I have a blue XL-12 that was given to me because the shop wouldn't take it in for service, even got the owners manual, and a Super 2 in the case. The old timer runs but is heavy and LOUD. I always liked Homies, there were a lot around when I started working on saws in the 70's. The only thing the new ones are good for is setting on a post for target practice.

Well there is a homelight in the barn now.  I was given a little red chainsaw case with a little red saw in it yesterday. Looks like original paper work inside case.

Member here said it has a fuel issues and not running right now.  Thanks.   ;)

I'll post a pic here and start a new thread on the little guy.

Watch out Kev.  It has a reed valve.:D

Replace the fuel line as well as the oil line(s).  The gas tank has a vent line that sticks a short way into the tank through a hole near the filler neck.  There should be a Homelite 69451 duckbill valve (now produced/sold by Stens and Oregon) on the end of that line inside the tank.

Some of them have a diaphragm oil pump in addition to a pressurized oil tank.  Others just have the pressurized oil tank.  The impulse line from the crankcase extends a short way into the oil tank.  It's supposed to have a porous bronze 'connector' stuck in the end of it, with another Homelite 69451 duckbill valve on the end of that.  By adjusting how much of that connector is exposed (meaning not covered by the duckbill or the line), you can control the amount of pressure that bleeds back out of the oil tank.  This controls the oil flow.  The Homelite SM sez to have between 1/16" and 1/8" of connector exposed.  If you want a LOT of oil flow, you can just use a solid walled tube instead of the connector.  That connector and what's left of the old duckbill may be sitting in the bottom of the oil tank...

Hi. Hi HMLT360Pro here. I owned a Homelite 360Pro that I bought new in the late '80's. It was probably the best saw I ever owned! I also owned a few Stihls, too. I started off with a 20''. Then bought a 24'' later for it. It pulled it just fine...  It always started on the second pull!!! It had a lot of torque! Cut fast, too. It burned lots of fuel, though... If I could by one in mint or NIB, I probably would. It cut lots of firewood & fell a few firs... I was totally impressed! It was something $400. new at a lumber supply store. They had the one step down model on shelf. I demo'ed it, but didn't like at all.  It finally got ripped off from the back my truck. >:( It was chained down, but... Lesson learned-put the saw in the cab, while at the watering Hole!!! :-[

I'm pretty sure the 360 was a Solo in Homelite clothes.  There were a couple of other Solo models under the Homelite label.  Seems like I remember a 410 was another.
