Good pic Al, thanks. It has a partial HL244, I need a HL273? or maybe convert to a cube carb.

I had to trot out to the shed to see what it is . 273a which is a 7/8" venturi. A 244 is 13/16 but would most likely work  okay .

You are the Man Al!!

The 1/16" difference I won't notice, it is lacking the H&L needles, but has new diaphrams. I have a few C5 carbs, will those needles work?

More than likely they would although they might not be long enough to stick through the side rubber gizmo  sealing contraption .

I think I might have wrenched on one C5 in my life time that had sat for 25 years .Low comp but it ran after I got through with it .Until that is they ran the damned thing using 50 to 1 on a saw with the chrome worn out in the cylinder .It would have blown any way given enough time .The thin oil ratio just hastened things along .

The guy might have gotten a piston /cylinder from Scott who had one at the time .Whatever but I never heard back .So much for a slight disrail --

Daaanng Randy.  You had better keep an eye on that girl there.  She seems to get around pretty quick.  I have seen her hanging out on at least three shady corners in the last few weeks, maybe more.

I had big red out yesterday on the largest ash tree I've ever seen in my life .Didn't run worth a hoot . :(

That's a problem with saws you only run every couple of years .Fact none of the large saws I took with me ran good except a souped up 038 Mag but I use that one regularly  .Time to rebuild some carbs I guess .
