My 162 does not have a chain brake on it.

Chainbrakes were optional on Huskys at that time.  Later, chainbrakes were standard on most Husky saws, while non-CB clutch covers were optional.  I've seen NOS non-CB 181-288 series clutch covers on eBay.

nice predecesor of the 61 .the 162se was a closed port cyl.and was a pro built saw
if yours is the duall thin ring ,its an earlier version.they share the same p/cs as the johnsereds 630
I love mine too!

If I remember..............I'll pull the muffler and take a peek at the rings on my 162SE tomorrow.  It really is a neat saw.

A good friend picked it up (IIRC from a Craigslist seller) a while back.  I geeked out pretty hard when he posted pics of it.  When he came out to CA to visit, he brought the 162SE with him and gave it to me as he knew I'd appreciate it.

With that 162SE and my 1997 272XP, I have the Alpha and the Omega of that saw series (as well as a nice 266XP and a 300th anniversary 268XP).

Not sure how many rings mine has either. All I have did with the saw is cut wood wearing out a couple bars and a bunch of chains and rebuilt the carb back in the early 1990's.
