More good info from GG. = I think the 2 that sold June 24 are the two I purchased.

They weren't marketed or represented to be mahle brand when I ordered them, but when they got here they were in the mahle box I posted the pic of.

There is no real way to know if the two I purchased are in fact genuine mahle or a Chinese knockoff but I will say this... The pistons are very nice, far better quality than any aftermarket piston I've ever seen. I haven't ran one yet but from looking and measuring I'd say the two pistons I got are better quality than episan, meteor, and certainly better than golf or any if the others like VEC.

The castings are beautiful, smooth and no flash, the machine work is clean and on size.. There is no size variance over .0001" between the two pistons I have.

Even if the two I got aren't mahle I'd like to know what they are, I'd certainly buy more of them even if they put in a black box with black letters that says "piston" on it.

Aaron dont you have some 2100 projects needing pistons? Maybe get one of these $20 pistons to check and try out?

3 pistons left $13 and ship from Singapore, randy bought 2 to check out. Be neat if they are the same as the ones GG bought for for $28.

I have almost enough parts to build three 2100's now.

One will be getting an NOS p/c (that was spendy, but...).

A second will probably get a 395XP Meteor piston (and I'll probably contract our friend Srcarr52 to make that work and perform his magic on it if he's willing).

I'll build the third one with either a good used slug that I have or one of these AM slugs if they pass closer inspection.  I'll keep the first two saws and sell the third...

That'll leave me with one spare used jug.

Those rings are hard to come by. I'd almost grab a set just to have. I need to check with the old husky dealer and see if he has any thin rings for the 181 and 2100.

If he has a set of thin 181SE rings beyond what you're needing please let me know.  I'd like to put a set aside...

I'll ask him next time I go and visit. Still need to get that truckload of old husky stuff he's got.

Just in case anyone interested so you dont have to file the Homelite or Mac rings to use in the 181 thin rings.  I stumbled across a guy with a 181 graveyard. He said he will go though them and pull all the used usable thin rings for me.
