262 carb settings
« on: June 28, 2017, 01:59:11 pm »
I picked up a husky 261 with a 262 piston and muffler. The guy I got the saw from said he put a new carb on it years ago and could never get it to run correct after he put it on. So I pulled the cover on the saw and seen that the limiter caps are not on the carb and I don't know where a good starting point would be. I've been able to get the saw to start but if I give it some throttle it just dies. Can someone give me a good starting point for the H and L needles? Thanks DG

Info I have says initial L and H are both 1 turn out from seated. That ought to get you to a decent starting point.

There must be some other problem with the saw. I can get it to start but as I give it some gas it just dies! What am I missing? Thanks DG
